Education is not neutral. Every curriculum, every textbook, and every classroom policy teaches a worldview. For decades, we have watched as the public school system has slowly drifted away from the foundational values that made America strong, replacing them with radical ideologies that confuse children and undermine parental authority.
In 2026, the Christian Coalition of Alabama is drawing a line in the sand.
We believe that parents, not the state, are responsible for the upbringing of their children. We believe that schools should be places of academic excellence, not social engineering. And we believe that ignoring God in the classroom has been a disastrous experiment for our nation.
Priority 1: Expanding School Choice (CHOOSE Act)
While we fight to improve public schools, we also believe that no child should be trapped in a failing system or a hostile environment. The CHOOSE Act has opened the door for true educational freedom in Alabama.
We fully support the expansion of the CHOOSE Act. As the application portal opens in January 2026, we are launching a statewide awareness campaign to ensure Christian families know how to access these Education Savings Accounts. Whether it is private Christian schooling or homeschooling, tax dollars should follow the student, empowering parents to choose the environment that best aligns with their values.
Priority 2: Putting God Back in the Classroom
For too long, faith has been stripped from the public square, creating a moral vacuum. We see the pre-filed legislation to display the Ten Commandments in public schools as a bold step in the right direction.
Restoring this foundation is not about imposing religion, but about acknowledging the objective moral standards that Western civilization and our laws are built upon. We support these efforts to remind the next generation that there is a higher authority than the state.
Priority 3: Protecting Student Innocence
Schools should be safe havens for learning, not laboratories for radical gender theory. We believe that recent pre-filed bills aimed at protecting student innocence from gender ideology are steps in the right direction for our state.
We support legislation that ensures biological reality is respected in K-12 classrooms and that reinforces the fundamental right of parents—not school staff—to guide their children’s upbringing on sensitive issues.
"The battle for the future is the battle for the classroom. We cannot afford to be passive while the hearts and minds of our children are at stake. Join us as we fight to bring truth, sanity, and Biblical values back to education in Alabama."
